hi andrew,
I want to say thank you and to show my apreciation for sharing your knowledge with people all over the world. It’s very hard to describe how helpful your video lessons are in helping me entering into the music world. I live in israel and it seems to be very hard to find a decent teacher in my city, and I also don’t have enough time and money to go to teachers which are located far away from me. thus, your lessons are pretty much the last way for me to learn the piano. the spiritual satisfication from playing pieces on my own is limitless.
so once again, THANK YOU!
Elad.
Hello Andrew!
Thank you for freely sharing your knowledge. This world will be paradise if we had more of you. You really inspire me to care about people and the world.
I have always wanted to learn Piano as a little girl but my parents couldn’t afford it. So, I would draw the keys of a piano on a piece of paper and practice on my soundless piano. Frustrating for a little girl.
Now I’m 34, comfortable enough to get my “solid” keyboard, enroll myself and my daughter for piano lessons. Your lessons however bet the classes I attend hands down!
Could you PLEASEEEEEE put these lessons on DVD and sell them? The quality of the ones I download on YouTube are horrible. I would pay millions to get my hands on your DVD
… Thanks once again! You are highly appreciated!
Thisblog is very impressive. I’m going to make a note and come back again. As a fellow professional, thank you for the insights.
Andrew you are the Man…Don’t know how far I can go with this but..so far its a lot of fun..Thats a gift my friend..making the piano fun…
Andrew, i sent an Email using your utility for contacting Andrew, but i just wanted to make sure you were able to see how grateful i am so i decided to post here as well. My childhood was filled with opporotunity and music and learning, but when my dad died when i was 16 and i was left with my mom who i now take care of more than she takes care of me, i lost any and all opporotunity to ever get a new keyboard, or even the ambition to. Years passed, and i got a few pawn shop guitars here and there to keep my fingers in touch with some type of musical notes, however recently i saw your free lessons on youtube while browsing through some drawing lessons. Andrew after seeing i could actually learn piano for free (i know it IS possible to self teach yourself instruments, i did it with guitar, and ive seen it done but Piano is a little different. I dont know if this is generally accepted but in MY opinion piano is the one instrument where an actual instructor present in the very early stages of playing is darn near CRUCIAL if the player is to not give up. ) I went on a mission to find myself a keyboard because the practice rooms at the community college arent open convenient hours, and i couldnt watch andrew and play at the same time. I found an old friend with a dusty 60-something key keyboard laying around to sell it to me for 20 dollars. After 3 days i can play Fur Elise and the beginning part/verse/minute of Moonlight Sonata. I am SO impressed with you as a person you keep me laughing and interested and you could easily charge for this but you dont. You have given a person who cant even afford to feed themselves all the time an opportunity that most never get. In a year or so i will be playing beautiful music and learning to compose my own pieces and who knows maybe ill get REALLY good and its all because of you Andrew and thats not exageration
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hello Andrew, What a kind and generous soul you are, my friend. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these videos, to share your knowledge and passion for the piano with us all.
I’m just a beginner and I practice a lot on my own because I’m very motivated to learn, and I find your lessons extremely valuable and most helpful on the road to mastering the instrument and in the fine art of making soulful heart-warming music
Did I mention that I like your nervous giggles ? Nothing beats having a one-to-one learning experience with a “personal” teacher/trainer, so its like you being there at my side and guiding me towards achieving my goal. I really appreciate your work, and I hope that eventually you can make your lessons available for purchase on DVD – that would be awesome. Now if only music theory coule be a little easier… hehe no chance, its an obliged passage, I know !
Thanks a million Andrew, stay with us for a long time
your site is awesome…spread our musical heritage my friend…I am starting a site as well to pass on some of the fun of soloing properly… no-one should be able to take a solo before they can sing it first… lol
take care
X
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for giving the (hope of the) gift of music to those of us who cannot afford it. Justin Sandercoe (www.justinguitar.com) does the same for guitar. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart. I have promised Justin that I will donate as soon as I am in the financial position to do so, and I now make the same pledge to you. One question – are your lessons anywhere besides youtube (as I would like to download them to enable me to watch them whilst sitting at the keyboard)? Once again, thank you so much, people like yourself and Justin are making a beautiful contribution to this world by sharing your incredible gifts.
Mick.

Hi Andrew .
I am from Malaysia and i am facing some problem of piano skill.
This August i will sit for Grade 8 of practical .But i still cant play well of my pieces (ABRSM) . I hope you can give me some ways to improve my skill .. I will Appreciate of your teaching.
My pieces (ABRSM grade 8 from 2009 -2010 ) but this is the last year .
The 1st problem i am facing is the second song .
The song’s name is Allegro con brio:first movement from Sonata in B flat .Op24 No2
… bars 20 to 23. The trill and semiquaver with left hand ,either i cant play evenly or my fingers will feel pain and numbness .
The second thing is the pedal . I cant play smoothly with pedal (pitch) .i felt very noisy.
Finally . i hope you can give some opinion and make me play better and smoothly . For me ,Grade 8 really give me pressure that i start to cant face it .
